Mercury Free Baby has written an open letter to Sanofi Pasteur to discontinue the use of the harmful mercury preservative Thimerosal in vaccines, because it has come to our attention that Sanofi Pasteur distributes most of the Thimerosal-containing vaccines licensed in the United States of America (USA) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Mercury Free Baby is an organization dedicated to promoting a world in which no child, born or unborn, ever receives avoidable mercury exposure from a product that claims to improve or protect children’s health.
Table 1 lists the licensed vaccines that, as of January 2017, Sanofi Pasteur distributes in the USA which still contain the mercury preservative Thimerosal.
In addition, Table 2 lists two pediatric vaccines that, as of January 2017, Sanofi Pasteur distributes in low- and middle-income countries and contain a preservative level of Thimerosal.
Currently, more than two hundred (> 200) studies have found harm from exposure to Thimerosal in vaccines.
Further, a recent study conducted by Kaiser Permanente found an increased risk of autism among children born to mothers who received an influenza vaccination in the first trimester of their pregnancy.
When they receive a dose of the multi-dose influenza vaccine distributed by Sanofi Pasteur, pregnant women in the USA receive a dose of your influenza vaccine, which exposes them to nominally 50 micrograms [µg] of Thimerosal (about 25 µg [21 to 31 µg] of Mercury).
Pregnant women in developing countries are typically given both the influenza vaccine and the tetanus vaccine, bringing their nominal Mercury exposure to 50 µg when they receive a dose of both those vaccines produced by Sanofi Pasteur. Here you can find Monder Criminal Lawyer Group of San Diego.
In the USA, administration of your multi-dose influenza-vaccine formulation to pregnant women exposes the fetus to levels of Thimerosal (49.5% Mercury by weight) that are markedly higher than the federal government’s published safety limit for the ingestion of such Mercury species (0.1 micrograms of Mercury / kg of body weight / day).
Thus, for a standard 0.5-milliliter dose of your multi-dose influenza vaccine nominally containing 25 µg of organic Mercury, a person would have to weigh more than 550 pounds to not exceed the FDA’s published ingested-Mercury safety limit.
Moreover, though there is no FDA-established safety limit for injected Thimerosal, based on the findings reported by a long-term, multiple-level, repeatedly-injected-Thimerosal-exposure rat study, the injected-Thimerosal safety limit for developing children was calculated to be less than (<) 0.0086 µg of Thimerosal [< 0.0043 µg of Mercury] / kg of body weight and find more.
Based on the preceding facts, we respectfully request that, in the year 2017, Sanofi Pasteur develop a binding plan to:
a) Cease distributing all its Thimerosal-containing vaccines;
b) Stop using Thimerosal in the manufacture of all its vaccines by January 2018; and
c) On or before 30 June 2019, recall and destroy all of the remaining doses of its Thimerosal-containing vaccines.
We hope you will help us in making the world, and the womb, a safer place for children by making sure that they are protected from unnecessary, unsafe, and completely avoidable Mercury exposures from vaccines containing Thimerosal.
Sincerely,
Mercury Free Baby (mercuryfreebaby.org)
